I Ain’t No Slacker! What I’ve Been Up To Lately

I know what you’re thinking … WHERE THE HELL HAVE I BEEN? It’s been a lloonngg time since I last wrote on this blog. But since I got back from my studies/trip to Luxembourg and all over Europe, I’ve been preoccupied with my internship at the Syndicate. It’s given me the chance to not only learn more about the radio/music industry business, but also the chance to do more work with Metal Insider (the site I’ve been writing and contributing news for beforehand).

You might be yelling at me since I’ve probably used that excuse for a while now. However, not only have I gotten to do a lot more work for the site but I’ve also gotten the chance to conduct more interviews!! On July 16, I got to interview Swashbuckle, Ted Aguilar of Death Angel and Dirk Verbeuren of Soilwork during their stop at the Trocadero in Philly. Then last weekend (7/23) at the Mayhem Fest in Camden, NJ, I got the chance to interview Jason Bittner of Shadows Fall, Piggy D. of Rob Zombie’s band and Wednesday 13 of the Murderdolls. As if that wasn’t enough, I then got to conduct a phone interview with none other than Gus G., guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne’s band and Firewind. I am so stoked that I got the opportunity to conduct all of these interviews and speak to these amazing artists!

They are slowly starting to pop up on Metal Insider. In case you needed proof that I haven’t been slacking off, I’ve added links to the interviews in the names above (once each have been posted, I will add in a link). So go ahead and check them out. I hope you enjoy! If you’d like, I’d also recommend checking out a new column I’m taking part in for Metal Insider called the Headbangers’ Brawl, where me and Bram discuss two opposing sides of an issue. The first edition of the column has been posted online (sorry, had to do a plug).
