Live Photos Of Arch Enemy/Exodus and Devildriver/Behemoth

I should start off by saying how sorry I am for taking so long to update this site. I ideally aim to add some sort of concert or album review or even just an opinion piece when I get the chance. However, I have just been swamped with lots of work and just life in general. This is truly a shame because I got the chance to see two amazing concerts last month at the Palladium. On January 23, I got to see Arch Enemy destroy the stage with Exodus, Arsis and Mutiny Within. Not only was it a great show, but I also got the honor to interview Michael Amott for before the show (check it out if you already haven’t!). Then the following week, on January 29, I got the chance to see Devildriver perform with Behemoth, Suffocation and Goatswhore. Needless to say, the show was insane!!!

To make up for the fact that I was unable to write a review for both shows, here are pictures I took from both shows. You can see all my pictures from Arch Enemy and Exodus’ show here, and pictures from Devildriver and Behemoth here.
Look after the jump to wet your appetite with some selected pictures from both shows. I hope to post my critique on the Five Finger Death Punch show I attended recently (find out why I use the word critique…things might get ugly).

Mosh This Way: Tom Hamilton Caught At A Devildriver/Behemoth Concert

Posted in Concert Spotting with tags , , , , on February 1, 2010 by zach-attack-shaw

This past weekend, I got to see Devildriver and Behemoth perform at the Palladium in Worcester, MA. As expected, both bands put on an incredible show. What I didn’t expect though was to see a member from Aerosmith in the audience. That’s right, you heard me. A member of Aerosmith at a metal concert at the Palladium!

Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton was in the VIP section during the concert, which also saw performance from Suffocation, Goatwhore and many more. While I’d like to think that Hamilton is a huge black/thrash metal fan, his presence was probably due to his son Julian, who is apparently a huge metal head himself. While he seemed to disappear during Devildriver’s set, Hamilton was visibly enjoying Behemoth’s set. As I looked up to see Hamilton rocking out to Behemoth, I couldn’t help but imagine seeing Behemoth’s Nergal singing “Back In The Saddle”. The more I think about it, the more bizarre it seems.

Check back here to see pictures and my review from this show. Hopefully the post will be sooner then later (I know I’ve been behind on updating the blog and writing reviews. School has got me by the balls though!). I also hope to have pictures and a review of Arch Enemy and Exodus’ show last weekend (my interview with Michael Amott tied me up. More details about that soon!)

Mayhem Fest Delivers The Goods in Camden, NJ

The sun is beaming bright. A parking lot is full of sweaty, die hard metal fans. And only the sounds of “SLAYER!” chants can be heard from the crowd. This can only mean one thing: Mayhem Fest has rolled into town. The second annual Mayhem Festival, co-headlined by thrash titans Slayer and the infamous Marilyn Manson, arrived in Camden, New Jersey this past Friday. With a lineup made up of 13 bands spread out on three different stages, this year’s Mayhem Festival delivered the goods. By giving fans such a unique caliber of bands, and the opportunity to interact with those bands and their fellow concert goers, it was close to impossible to leave the show without a smile (or an evil grin if you’re too hardcore to smile). The following is a summary of what went down at each stage and in my opinion which band had the best performance from each stage.
